Once you have decided to move house, you should book an appointment with one of our professional Moving Consultants from your nearest Bishop's Move branch. The early you do this the better - it really does not matter if you have sold your house yet or not. Our Moving Consultants will visit you at your home, prior to your move, and undertake a comprehensive survey of your household possessions, including the garage and attic. This is to ensure that you get the most accurate cost for your house move as well as ensuring that we are in the best position to advise you on all aspects of your move. |
| What Actually Happens on a Survey? |

- The Moving Consultant will visit you at your home on the day and at the time that you have specified.
- They will itemise the contents of your entire home, as well as the attic and any outside storage you may have.
- They will discuss any moving requirements that you may have, including the size of the move and what packing services you require. This is an ideal time for you to point out any antiques, artwork or fragile items that need extra care when packing.
- Our Moving Consultant will also advise you on Bishop's Move's specialised services, such as the hire of cleaners and handymen to dismantle furniture.
- If storage is required, the Moving Consultant will run through our various secure long or short term storage solutions.
- The consultant will also explain all our insurance options, from our standard Sceptre Cover to more comprehensive policies that even cover your entire house move falling through from being "gazumped" (all of which are FSA authorised).
- The consultant will finally assess the access to your home, as in some areas permits need to be applied for in advance to reserve space for removal vehicles
